DBK Walk-A-Thon General Questions

Where do the funds go?

All funds raised through our Walk-A-Thon will be used to help fund our Finding Your Way Out Scholarships. This scholarship is presented to individuals rebuilding their lives after escaping a domestic violence relationship.

Do I have to register in order to walk?

The registration fee is only $25. However, we ask every walker to make a personal donation and commit to raising funds to help victims of Domestic Violence find their way out of their violent relationship.

Do I need to register my children to walk?

Yes, children should register. And anyone under the age of 5 years old does not have to pay a registration fee. Parent/guardians can register children online or complete am offline registration form and sign the waiver on behalf of the child.

Does every walker receive a tee shirt?

Every walker that registers with a minimum donation of $100 or more will receive a t-shirt.

Are pets, strollers, bicycles, or skates allowed on walk day?

We will not allow strollers on the track, but you are welcome to use your strollers in the blacktop area surrounding the track venue. And for everyone’s safety, skateboards, bicycles, inline skates and wheelie footwear will not be allowed. The only dogs welcomed is Seeing Eye Dogs and they must be on a leash at all times.

How do I volunteer

We need volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up, registration, security, bleachers ushers, the T-shirt tent and so much more. All interested volunteers should complete our volunteers form and someone from our office will contact you.
